Yukihiro Kitagawa, M.A.

Yuki (he/him/his) is a first-year doctoral student at the University of Oregon. He graduated from Stony Brook University with an M.A. and an B.S. in Psychology and a double minor in 1) Applied Mathematics & Statistics and 2) Health, Medicine, & Society. At Stony Brook University, Yuki conducted research in 1) child development and parenting and 2) romantic relationships and LGBTQ stress in the Developmental Stress and Prevention Lab and the Relationship Development Center, respectively.

Currently, Yuki is interested in identifying culturally responsive mechanisms and implementation strategies of evidence-based interventions that improve participation, engagement, and treatment effects among youths with unique backgrounds (e.g., immigrant youth, international students, those with multiracial/multiethnic backgrounds, or LGBTQ youth of color). He hopes to incorporate these mechanisms to develop decision-making tools for guidance of treatment adaptations for community and school therapists.

In his free time, Yuki likes to cook, exercise, craft, watch sports, and take care of his cats and plants.
